About the Participation of the Association in the St Petersburg University’s Activities

You state that the Alumni Association does not participate in university events. Is this really so? I regularly hear about events related to the Association, but I was sure that they are held jointly with the University. Are there statistics on how many University events the association has actually participated in?

In 2019, the Department for Event Management of St Petersburg University organised 248 public events, which were attended by 119,051 people. Of these, 139 were scientific events, 39 — protocol events, 34 — image events and 36 — open lectures and excursions. Among the co-organisers of the events in 2019 were, for example:

  • Committee for External Relations of St Petersburg;
  • Committee for Science and Higher Education of the Government of St Petersburg;
  • Committee on Labour and Employment of St Petersburg;
    Council of Rectors of Universities of the North-Western Federal District;
  • Council of Rectors of Universities of St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region;
  • Association of Leading Universities;
  • Association of Lawyers of Russia;
  • Vavilov Society of Geneticists and Breeders (VOGiS);
  • All-Russian Research Institute of Agricultural Microbiology (FGBNU VNIISHM);
  • Association of Moral and Spiritual Enlightenment ’Pokrov’;
  • JSC Kommersant;
  • Anatoly Sobchak Foundation;
  • The International Arctic Forum Information Centre;
  • The St Petersburg Organising Committee of the All-Russian Educational campaign ’Total Dictation’;
  • other organisations.

In 2019, the St Petersburg University Alumni Association did not co-organise any major scientific and image events of St Petersburg University and did not participate in the drafting of their programs.

In 2020, the Department for Event Management of St Petersburg University organised 162 public events, which were attended by 362,267 people. Of these, 54 events were held in in-person format with the participation of 21,981 people and 113 events were held in the remote format with the participation of 340,286 people. Among the co-organisers of the events in 2020 were, for example:

  • Committee for Science and Higher Education of the Government of St Petersburg;
  • Committee on Labour and Employment of St Petersburg;
  • Council of Rectors of Universities of the North-Western Federal District;
  • Council of Rectors of Universities of St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region;
  • Association of Leading Universities;
  • Association of Lawyers of Russia;
  • Russian Historical Society;
  • PJSC Sberbank;
  • JSC Kommersant;
  • Anatoly Sobchak Foundation;
  • AGT Communications Group;
  • ‘Novy Prospekt’, Ltd;
  • German — Russian Forum, ’Hallo Deutchland’ Project;
  • Association of Educational Organisations ’Scientific-Educational Theological Association;
  • and other organisations.

In 2020, the St Petersburg University Alumni Association neither co-organised major scientific or image events of St Petersburg University nor participated in drafting their programmes.

During the period from January 2021 until May 2021, the St Petersburg University Event Management and Partner Relations organised 76 public events, which were attended by 22,329 people. Of these, 23 events were held in in-person format with the participation of 6,294 people and 53 events were held in the remote format with the participation of 16,035people. Among the co-organisers of the events in 2021 were, for example:

  • Committee for Science and Higher Education of the Government of St Petersburg;
  • Committee on Labour and Employment of St Petersburg;
  • Committee for General and Professional Education of the Leningrad Region;
  • Federal Service for Supervision of Education and Science;
  • International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature;
  • Council of Rectors of Universities of the North-Western Federal District;
  • Council of Rectors of Universities of St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region;
  • Association of Leading Universities;
  • Association of Lawyers of Russia;
  • Anatoly Sobchak Foundation;
  • other organisations.
