Admission to main educational postgraduate programmes (aspirantura)

Question: I want to ask if i can study PhD in the international relations or in the political science
i have bachelor in the political science average 2.52 good and master degree in the international political economy average 75.8 .
is there any chance to have a scholarship

The answer of Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs Marina Lavrikova: In 2013 SPbU is conducting admission to main educational postgraduate programmes (aspirantura) within the following science workers specialties “Theory and Philosophy of Politics, History and Methods of Politic Science”, “Political Institutes, Processes and Technologies in Traditional Industrial and Informational Societies”, “Political Culture and Ideologies”, “International Politics: Comparative Studies”, “Political Regional Studies. Ethnopolitics.”, “Political Conflictology”, “Political Systems and Political Regimes in International Relations”, “International Relations and International Politics”, “Political Conflicts Regulations Technologies”. To be admitted to aspirantura an applicant must have a Master’s or Specialist’s degree.

Foreign citizens can apply to SPbU aspirantura either for education at the expense of the Russian Federation budget, on basis of the assignment letters issued by the Russian Federation Ministry of Education and Science, or as fee-paying (contractual) students. Documents of applicants to education at the expense of the Russian Federation budget were admitted from 08.07.2013 to 31.07.2013. Documents of applicants for education on contractual, fee-paying basis are admitted from  08.07.2013 to 19.08.2013 (12.00 am Moscow time). Entrance exams are held from 20.08.2013 to 29.08.2013.

Applicants to aspirantura have to submit the following documents to the Documents Admission Committee.

1. application to aspirantura addressed to the Rector;
2. the original (or its duly certified copy) of a duly legalized (if necessary) document of education in a foreign country and its supplement (if aplicable). If an official recognition of the document is necessary, a certificate of official recognition of the foreign educational and/or qualification document must be enclosed. The documents must be officially translated into Russian;
3. 2 (two) photos 3x4 sm;
4. a list of published scientific works (if any);
5. a certificate confirming passing of Candidate’s exams and a certificate from the university confirming PhD student status (if any).

I want to draw your attention to the fact that documents can be submitted either personally or by post: 199034, Russian Federation, Saint-Petersburg, Universitetskaya nab., 7/9, SPbU Admission Committee.  Documents can be also submitted in the digital (scanned) form via SPbU official website.

To be admitted you must have an interview with a potential scientific advisor. In 2013 the interview can be conducted with the help of videoconference equipment and distance education technologies.
