Question: Good day, i would like to ask you, if it is possible to study international relations on Saint Petersburg State University. I am from Slovakia. I have passed 4 semesters on faculty of the law in Kosice, but i realized that, i prefer study international relations in Russia. So i would like to get all important information.
The answer of Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs Marina Lavrikova: Admission to SPbU is conducted in accordance with the Rules of Admission to SPbU in 2013 which are published on the official SPbU website in the “Admission to SPbU” section in Russian and English.
Foreign citizens are admitted to SPbU at the expense of the Federal budget of the Russian Federation within the quota established by the Decree of the Russian Federation Government dated 25.08.2008 № 638 «On cooperation with foreign countries in the educational sphere» on basis of an assignment letter issued by the Russian Federation Ministry for Education and Science.
A description of the procedure of the contest for state scholarship can be found on the official SPbU website in the “Admission to SPbU” section, “Foreign Citizens Admission” subsection in Russian and English.
Deadline of the documents admission for those applying for studying at the expense of the Russian Federation Federal budget within the quota established by the Decree of the Russian Federation Government dated 25.08.2008 № 638 «On cooperation with foreign countries in the educational sphere» is:
- from 01.03.2013 to 30.04.2013;
- from 01.05.2013 to 30.06.2013.
Applicants can submit all the necessary documents and application via SPbU official website in the digital form. To do that applicant should register on SPbU official website getting personal login and password for the Personal Office from 01.03.2013 to the end of the application period. Giving personal logins and passwords to other people is restricted. Responsibility for keeping personal login and password for the Personal Office is placed on the applicant.
Documents admission for foreign citizens applying for education on contractual (fee-paying) basis who need an entrance visa for admission to SPbU is conducted from 01.03.2013 to 21.07.2013.
Foreign citizens applying to contractual (fee-paying) basis to main educational programme 031900 “International Relations” have to pass the following entrance examinations: Russian language exam in oral and written forms (ТРКИ-1) and International Relations interdisciplinary exam in written form.
