Question: I have a question about the admission requirements. Do you accept the GED with SAT/ACT as a US High School equivalent?

The answer of Head of Admission Committee Egor Yablokov:

According to the Russian Federal Law No. 273-FZ as of December 29, 2012 "On Education in the Russian Federation" and Regulations for Admission to Main Educational Programmes of Higher Education (Bachelor Programmes, Specialist Degree Programmes, Master Programmes) at St. Petersburg State University, when applying for admission to SPbU, international applicants shall submit an original (or a true copy) of a duly legalised (Aposlilled) foreign document of education and its supplements (if the latter is provided for by the laws of the country issuing the said certificates of education) recognised in the Russian Federation and giving its holder the same academic and/or professional rights that holders of state-recognised documents of basic general education or secondary (complete) general education have (or its true copy). Submitted document has to represent an information about your previous education.

Please, point out that the most programs in SPbU are taught in the Russian language. List of the programs which are taught in English you can find here: "Educational programms which are taught in english".

A preparation course in Russian lasts 10 months. Upon completion of the course students obtain a graduation certificate from SPbU. As well, they can take a state examination "Test of Russian as Foreign Language" (TORFL) and obtain a certificate of a correspondent level which is needed to apply for studies at the SPbU. More detailed information about the foundation course and a full list of programs offered you can find here: http://russian4foreigners.com/ru/node/170
