Question: I'm a former research fellow from the the Oxford Institute for Ethics, Law and Armed Conflict and I hold a masters from the London School of Economics, currently a humanitarian worker for the United Nations. I'm interested in the masters of philosophy of St. Petersburg State University, to focus on applied ethics (humanitarian utilitarianism, deontology, virtue ethics, Humean ethics) or the conflictology stream. Could you please guide me through the application process and what the requirements are for a foreign student?

In 2013 SPbU will implement admission to main educational Master programme in the field of Philosophy (to the following profiles ‘Philosophy of Politics and Law’, ‘Logic, argumentation and communication’, ‘Oriental philosophic traditions’). Detailed information on admission of foreign citizens to SPbU can be found in the clause 3 of the ‘Admission Rules at SPbU in 2013’. Further information on admission of foreign citizens is available on SPbU Admission Committee webpage.
Foreign citizens applying to main educational programmes of higher professional education at the expense of the Russian Federation Federal budget within the quota allocated to SPbU in 2013 for admission of foreign citizens and compatriots living abroad established by the Decree of the Russian Federation Government dated 25.08.2008 № 638 «On cooperation with foreign countries in the field of education» shall submit documents within the following timelines submit documents:
1. from 01.03.2013 to 30.04.2013;
2. from 01.05.2013 to 30.06.2013.
