Question: Hello I'm a mbbs graduate from India. Please explain me the admission criteria and requirements for the same.
The answer of Head of Admission Committy Egor Yablokov: To be admitted to the main higher educational programmes in SPbU (PhD, doctoral studies or internship) candidates should submit Specialist diploma (study period for not less than 5 years) or Master diploma (study period for not less than 2 years after Bachelor diploma, study period for not less than 4 years) recognized in the Russian Federation in accordance to the Federal Law «On Education in the Russian Federation».
As at the moment there is no agreement on mutual recognition of documents on education between India and the Russian Federation, you will have to have your educational documents recognized. Information on the procedure of recognition can be found here. The application can be submitted either in written form or in the scanned version via the Internet, including the Common Government Services Portal of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, starting from 01.09.2013 SPbU has been given right to provide recognition of foreign education for the purpose of completion the education in SPbU. The recognition procedure will be published on the official SPbU website in the «Admission to SPbU» section.
Clinical residency, PhD and internship programmes are instructed in SPbU Russian. For those who don't have a sufficient level of Russian language proficiency or want to improve it, Russian language courses are available within additional educational programmes for 1 year. Additionally I would like to inform you that all the foreign documents on education and (or) qualification (recognized in the Russian Federation or not) should be legalized in accordance with the established procedure and translated into Russian.
