中文 Question:I am from kolkata, India. I am currently studying postgraduate (M.Sc) in Physics In Burdwan University. I want to do research in the field of astrophysics. I already did two projects on astrophysics and one about telescope making.
I want to do my research in this university. I want to do my Phd from here. Please sir tell me all the necessary details how I can enroll for a phd position?

International applicants can be admitted to SPbU both to places on a fee-paying (contractual) basis and to places funded by the Russian Government (Scholarship includes tuition fee and academic scholarship 1340 rubles per month in 2013/14 academic year).
All information about the competition, organized by the St. Petersburg State University, including a list of required documents and PhD specialties which you can apply as well as deadlines for documents submitting are published on the web-site of SPBU Admission Committee (abiturient.spsu.ru) in the part "Admission of foreign citizens".
If at the time of application you will not have an educational certificate you need to get an academic transcript from your University. Please, take into account that your educational certificate and transcript must be translated into the Russian language and apostilled. Please, make a note that we can enroll you only after provision of your Master diploma with Apostille and translation. Enrollment to SPSU ends at the September, 1.
Please, pay attention that studying at all PhD programs is possible only in the Russian language. In this way we can suggest preparatory course on the Russian language before the application to the PhD. A preparation course in Russian lasts 10 months. Upon completion of the course students obtain a graduation certificate from SPbU. As well, they can take a state examination “Test of Russian as Foreign Language” (TORFL) and obtain a certificate of a correspondent level which is needed to apply for studies at the SPbU.
