中文 Question: it is pleasure writing to this university i will like to need some information about the school and the process it will take me to join this university,but presently i study in tambov state university but i want to do transfer to this unversity for medicine.please i need the necessary information for the process..thanks waiting for your reply..
The answer of Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Ekaterina Babelyuk: You could become a student of Saint-Petersburg State University (SPbU) in following cases:
Case 1.
If you are the student of Tambov State University on the higher education program applied in order established for international students, and you study under the same conditions with the students for a fee, you have a right to be transferred to SPbU.
The order of transfer to SPbU is established by the Act about the procedure of student’s transfer, change of the conditions of study by the educational programs and recovery in SPbU, approved by the act of rector on 9th of September 2005 N 139/1 (further – Act about transfer). The text of Act about transfer you can read here.
Unfortunately Act about transfer hasn’t been translated to English yet.
Transfer of the student in possible after passing first attestation (session) of the first course. Herewith the student cannot be transferred on the last course.
One of the obligatory conditions of transfer is the qualification of student and his ability to study on the educational program he chose. This qualification is carried out after the attestation of SPbU. Students, who want to be transferred to the specialty “Medicine” in SPbU have to pass a written attestation.
Under the Act about transfer the transfer is possible if the academic difference is lower then 10 disciplines (difference between curriculums of your educational program in Tambov State University and in SPbU).
We transfer students to SPbU twice a year: after winter and summer sessions. Central Commission on Transfer and Recovery makes a decision about transfer.
Conference of Central Commission on Transfer and Recovery in February 2012 has been already finished. The next conference will be before the beginning of autumn semester of 2012/2013 academic year – 29th of August 2012 (receipt of documents is from the 1st of June 2012 till the 10th of August 2012).
To be transferred to SPbU international students are to submit the following documents:
- 1)an application for transfer on the education program of the chosen level and course (to vice-rector for academic affairs);
- 2)the copy of student’s record book;
- 3)academic record or another transcript with reference of credits (hours of study) (in the record or reference must be the full name of educational organization, registration number and date of issue, signature of authorized officer of educational organization with official stamp);
- 4)original certificates of education (duly legalized if necessary) and transcripts (if the latter is provided for by the laws of the country issuing the said certificates of education), recognized in the Russian Federation as equivalent to state-issued qualification documents, or their duly authorized copies (documents you’ve submitted to be applied in Tambov State University).
In addition I inform you that to be transferred from Tambov State University you shouldn’t be eliminated from University, moreover if you are eliminated you can’t be transferred because this procedure can be used only in relation to person being in the status of student of educational organization at the moment.
You should submit the documents mentioned above to the Commission on submission of documents by medicine at the address: Saint-Petersburg, 21 liniya (line) of Vasilievskiy ostrov, dom (house) 8a (room 108).
It is allowed to send the application and other documents by mail, e-mail (education@edu.spbu.ru">education@edu.spbu.ru) and also by fax, if there’ll be your personal signature, and the original documents will be submitted before the 10th of August 2012.
Case 2.
If you study in Tambov State University under the financing of State Federal funds and under intergovernmental treaties between Russian Federation and your country with reference of Ministry of education and science of Russian Federation, you should contact the deputy of the head of Academic department – adviser of vice-rector on medicine, medical technologies, stomatology and jurisprudence Varvara A. Vasilevskaya by e-mail: vasilevskaya.v@jurfak.spb.ru">vasilevskaya.v@jurfak.spb.ru or personally. Reception is held at the following address: Saint-Petersburg, 22 liniya (line) of Vasilievskiy ostrov, dom (house) 7 (room 22). Time of reception:
Mon, Wed, Thu 17:00 – 18:00 (5 p.m. – 6 p.m.)
Tue 11:00 – 12:00 (11 a.m. – 12 a.m.)
Fri 16:00 – 17:00 (4 p.m. – 5 p.m.)
If we make a decision about opportunity of your transfer to the specialty “Medicine” in SPbU after the consultation and comparing of curriculums of your educational program in Tambov State University and in SPbU, vice-rector for academic affairs will send a letter to the Ministry of education and science of Russian Federation, who will make a decision about transfer or refuse to transfer. If they make a positive decision, they will send to SPbU a reference, and we will issue an act about your transfer.
