中文 Question: i have complited my high school in india,i am intrested in doing undergraduate program in engineering in russia in st.petersburg university and i am ready to take the course in russian.my questions are first thing is ,do the university offer mechanical engineering program(undergraduate)?and if there then what is the proceedure for me to take admission ?,is there any entrance exam conducted? and till what date applications are accepted. and what is the probability of a foregin student getting a seat.kindly help me by answering the question
The answer of Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs Marina Lavrikova: SPbU will conduct an admission to main educational Bachelor programmes within the speciality “Fundamental Mathematics and Mechanics” (“Mathematics” as major), “Fundamental Mathematics and Mechanics” (“Mechanics” as major), “Mechanics and Mathematical Modelling”. Information about the conditions of admission of foreign students to SPbU can be found in the answers to the questions that have been asked via the Virtual Reception before, and on SPbU official website (Admission Committee section).
Admission of the application documents necessary for foreign students admission to SPbU to the places financed from the Federal budget is conducted from 01.05.2013 to 30.06.2013.
Foreign citizens applying to SPbU on contractual (fee-paying) basis or within bilateral agreement on student exchange who need a visa to enter the Russian Federation have to submit the necessary documents from 01.03.2013 to 21.07.2013.
In case of applying to the places financed from the Federal budget entrance examinations are held in the form of a portfolio evaluation (documents contest). In case of applying on contractual (fee-paying) basis it’s necessary to pass entrance exams at SPbU.
