Question: I am Medical Doctor(MD)from Iran/Tehran. I have worked for 3 years in

different hospital as a doctor. I can speak English and German as well.I

want to study Orthopedic surgery in there.

What should I do step by step?

The answer of Vice Rector of Academic Affairs Marina Lavrikova: In 2013 Saint-Petersburg University implements admission to the following main educational postgraduate (PhD) programmes in the field of Surgery:

  • programme of clinical residency ‘Surgery, Oral Surgery’
  • programme of internship training ‘Surgery’.

Decision on the list of postgraduate (PhD) programmes and research profiles in the field of surgery which will be open for application and admission at SPbU in 2013 will be undertaken by Admission Committee in May, 2013. In 2012 Saint-Petersburg University conducted admission to the following research profiles: 14.01.17 Surgery, 14.01.18 Neurosurgery.

All main educational postgraduate (PhD) programmes at SPbU are instructed in Russian language.

Foreign citizens who intend to apply to internship training, clinical residency or postgraduate (PhD) programmes at SPbU and having not the required level of Russian language proficiency can attend 1 year Russian language courses before admission. Russian language courses for foreign citizens are provided within additional educational programmes.
