Question: I am a PhD student in the Humanities Center at Johns Hopkins University in the U.S. My current research focuses on comparing Russian and German film and film theory at the beginning of the 20th century. I am planning to study in St. Petersburg this summer and was wondering if you have any suggestions for courses or programs. I can speak, read, and write in Russian. I am looking to take courses with Russian students (not language courses). Unfortunately, I will not be in Russia for longer than this summer, but I am looking to establish contacts for a one year stay in 2014. If you could offer any suggestions or direct me to someone with knowledge of the appropriate programs or classes, that would be greatly appreciated.

The basis for admission to SPbU non-degree studies (on basis of individual study plan / exchange studies) on tuition-waived basis is a valid agreement between SPbU and the sending institution (university, research institution or another organization) or an official assignment to education in SPbU issued by the authorities of the Russian Federation. In case there isn’t any agreement you can apply to SPbU on contractual (fee-paying) basis. More detailed information about non-degree studies in SPbU can be found on the official SPbU website.
