Question: I’m from Iraq, lecturer in Computer Science Department. I've graduated from Northern University Malaysia with Master degree in IT, I'm interesting with Computer networks especially LAN. recently I've worked on WiFi and WiMAX 4G, I would like to know tuition fees for Ph.D, how can I apply online for Ph.D? which supervisor your I should to contact"Computer network/Wireless communication", I'll be grateful regarding your help. finally I've great training from both Germany and USA, I'm looking forward getting an acceptance from St.PSU
The answer of Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Ekaterina Babelyuk: In accordance with the Regulations of academic and scientific staff training in the system of postgraduate professional education in the Russian Federation, approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation order dated 27.03.2012 № 814, an identification document and the diploma of graduaton from higher educational institution (for those who got education abroad - the diploma and a copy of the certificate of its equivalence) applicants to PhD programmes submit personally.
Enrolling to postgraduate programmes at SPbU involves taking the following entrance examinations: major, philosophy and foreign language necessary to fulfill a PhD thesis that are taken in oral and in written form. In this regard it is necessary for applicants to be present personally at the entrance examinations to PhD programmes.
In 2012/2013 academic year admission of documents for PhD programmes on contractual basis providing for tuition fee payment is conducted until 15th of November 2012 year according with the Rules of Admission to the Basic Educational Postgraduate Programmes at SPbU in 2012.
SPbU does not have PhD programmes in the field of «Computer networks and wireless communication». At the same time in 2012/2013 there will be admission to the following specialities: 05.13.11 «Mathematical and the software support of computers, complexes and computer networks», 05.13.17 «Theoretical bases of informatics», the academic advising on which is carried out by professors in the fields «Mathematics and mechanics» (http://www.math.spbu.ru/eng/), «Applied mathematics – controlprocesses» (http://www.apmath.spbu.ru/en/). In the 2012/2013 academic year the cost of training for foreign citizens at PhD programmes in the given fields is 132 000 rubles for full-time form and 55 800 rubles for correspondence form.
