International applicants have a right to be accepted for study at St Petersburg University both on the government-funded places within the framework of the quota established by Decree No. 2150 of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 18.12.2020 and places under contracts for the charged educational services.

For academic year 2024/25, admissions were based on the results of a competitive selection of documents (portfolio). The required documents and applications were accepted in digital format via the Applicant’s Personal Account. The application period for the government-funded basis was from 15.11.2023 to 23.02.2024, and for the fee-paying (contractual) basis it was from 15.04.2024 to 21.06.2024.

The full lists of degree programmes that were open for admissions in 2024 are published on the website. Descriptions of the programmes are available here. In the field of medicine, SPbU offered such bachelor’s and specialist’s degree programmes as "Nursing", "Nursing (in English)", "General Medicine", "General Medicine (in English)", "Dental Medicine", and "Dental Medicine (in English)".

For academic year 2024/25, the cost of tuition per year is 390,300 roubles for "Nursing", 427,100 roubles for "Nursing (in English)", 466,500 roubles for "General Medicine", 506,100 roubles for "General Medicine (in English)", 437,000 roubles for "Dental Medicine", and 474,000 roubles for "Dental Medicine (in English)".

Detailed information on the admissions procedures and lists of degree programmes for academic year 2025/26 will be published in section "Admissions Committee" of the website of St Petersburg University.

Please note that the majority of the degree programmes of St Petersburg University are implemented in Russian. For foreign citizens who want to improve their Russian language skills, St Petersburg University implements an additional educational programme "Preparatory Department (for International Applicants)" and courses in Russian as a foreign language.

Accommodation at SPbU halls of residence is provided in accordance with the "Regulations on the provision of places for students in the halls of residence of St Petersburg University". St Petersburg University does not offer separate accommodation facilities for students of a particular nationality or degree programme. The cost of living at SPbU halls of residence for students of main educational programmes is set in accordance with order as of 08/23/2023 No. 10968/1 "On establishing the amount of payment for accommodation of students in the halls of residence of St Petersburg University from 24.08.2023".
