Question: As we know, there is the gymnasium in the territory of the Campus of Petrodvorets educational and scientific complex. In the gymnasium it there is a racetrack which is very desirable by students (especially in a cold season). However, I will note with regret, that for the last years it stayed with the sad plate "the exercise machine temporarily doesn't work" an essential share of the time. So, for example, for the last half a year (even more — since the end of December 2012) the racetrack worked for several days only! At first any details went from a far-away country some months, then, literally in two-three days after repair, it failed again and stays broken up to now. In this regard there is a question with a hint on the offer: if one of the largest and most prestigious higher education institutions of the Russian Federation has no funds for the new exercise machine? Considering current state of available, its replacement on newer seems to me reasonable. And even to a couple of new, as it was already noticed, many students wish to use the exercise machine because of what there are often turns.
Answer of the director of St.Petersburg State University Campus Dmitry V. Mikhaylov: In a Campus gym of St.Petersburg State University all exercise machines including a racetrack, consist on service of specialized firm of the producer of sports exercise machines, cardio and the power equipment of premium-class “TechnoGym”. In case if the staff of Campus Fitness center find a disrepair of exercise machine, they immediately stops its exploitation and calls representatives of service of maintenance of “TechnoGym”. For safety engaged, only after diagnostics, repair work and obtaining the conclusion about full serviceability and the validity the exercise machine is put into operation. Now, according to the conclusion of representatives of “TechnoGym”, on the exercise machine (racetrack) the electronic block failed. Repair is complicated by that details need to be ordered from Italy.
Certainly, your wish about purchase of new racetracks won't remain unaddressed also. I will be glad to hear and use in work and other your offers. Active work on development of sports infrastructure is conducted in Campus for second year. So, for example, in 2012 in Campus territory in Peterhof the sports ground of street anti-vandal exercise machines and a platform of power designs was equipped, for a gym three new exercise machines were acquired.
This year is organized the work on repairing of street football, basketball and volleyball platforms in Campus territory, with modern antitraumatic covering from a rubber crumb. Necessary competitive procedures are finished and as a result the contract for performance of work is signed with the won organization. Date of completion of works – the end of September, 2013. Purchases of new ping pong tables which will be established soon in Campus dorms, and also anti-vandal street ping pong tables are made. So in Campus territory a platform for game in ping pong will be made soon.
