Admission to SPbSU for applicants from India

Published Date:

Question: Hello I am from India. Recently I complete my 12th exam with Physics, chemistry and Biology. Now I am planning to take admission in Saint Petersburg State for learning Medical(MBBS) course. So Can you explain the university of medicine in Saint Petersburg. And also explain the Academies that teaches medicine connected with SPBU. Thank you.

The answer of Acting for Head of Admission Directorate  Alexandr V. Babich:

Our course in General Medicine lasts 6 years and taught in Russian language. So, to pass entrance exams (written exams in Chemistry and Biology in Russian for fee-paying basis; an essay and motivation letter for government-funded basis) and finish the course successfully, you should know Russian language well. Your level in Russian should be at least TORFL-1.

If you do not know Russian language good enough, we advise you to take a preparation course in Russian language. At the Russian Language and Culture Institute of Saint-Petersburg University you may learn Russian as a foreign language. A preparation course in Russian lasts 10 months. Upon completion of the course students obtain a graduation certificate from the Philological department SPbU. As well, they can take a state examination "Test of Russian as Foreign Language" (TORFL) and obtain a certificate of a correspondent level (TORFL 1 for Bachelor programs, TORFL 2 – for MA programs) which is needed to apply for studies at the SPbU. More detailed information about the foundation course and a full list of programs offered you can find here. You also contact directly with them by Е-mail: info@rlci.spbu.ru.
