Question: Hello I am from Jordan.

i want to study computer science , could you please tell me the total cost for living and tuition fees?

The answer of Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs Ekaterina Babelyuk:

Thank you for your letter.

International applicants can be admitted to SPbU both to places on a fee-paying (contractual) basis and to places funded by the Russian Government (Scholarship includes tuition fee and academic scholarship).

Information about places funded by the Russian Government (Scholarship includes tuition fee and academic scholarship) is not available yet. It will be published in April of 2015 hereHere you may find information about admission of past years.

Information about places on a fee-paying (contractual) basis is available here.

Here you may find additional information about exams. Please, notice, that we do not offer any English-taught programs in Computer science, therefore your command in Russian is supposed to be very good.

Here you may find an information about tuition fees for last year (tuition fees for 2015-2016 academic year will be publish before the 1st of June). For example, fee for "Programming and Information Technology" Bachelor program was 180 000  rub per academic year. We do not have an information about prices for dormitory for coming academic year, living costs for 2014-2015 academic year were about 3000-3500 rub per month.

You also need to submit educational certificate/diploma (or its notarized copy) with legalization and its transcript into Russian. A list of full requirement you may find here.

Admission on a fee-paying (contractual) basis will start in 1st of April-2015 till 10th of August-2015 (but it would be better to send all required documents earlier, for example, in June or July in order to make your invitation for a visa in time). Information about deadlines for places funded by the Russian Government will be published at 1st of April at the latest.

Best Regards.
